BuzzBox Driver Installation - Option 2

For Windows Vista or if Option 1 Fails

If you have not already done so, we recommend you first try installing your device driver using option 1. Click to view alternate driver installation instructions.

To install or update the BuzzBox device driver:

1. Click on this link BuzzBox driver. When prompted choose SAVE. This prompt often appears at the very bottom of your browser window.
   or Download ZIPd driver installation Program (In case your computer won't let you download the unZIPd version)
   
   
   
   
2. Save the driver onto your Windows Desktop so it will be easy to find in step 8.
   
   
3. Open the Device Manager: Depending on your operating system, do one of the following to start the Windows Device Manager:
   
   
   
   For Windows Vista & 7:
• Click the Start button on the Windows taskbar to open the Windows Start menu.
• In the Start Search or Search programs and files box, type in: device manager
• Click on the Device Manager to start the program.
  
  
For Windows 8:
• Press the Win key + X to open the Windows menu and click on the Device Manager link to start the program.
  
  
4. Make sure the BuzzBox is plugged into an available USB port. You'll see a vertical "tree" view of your hardware. For our purposes, we want to look at this list by type of device, so use the command View > Devices by Type to set your view.
   
   
   
   
5. Open the group called Universal Serial Bus devices group by clicking on the small triangle in front of the group name. Now look for a Reader/Writer Box with either a yellow Question mark or a triangle warning sign.
   
   
   
   
6. Right-click on the Reader/Writer Box and select the first item on the menu, Update Driver.
   
   
7. Use the 2nd selection to point to the driver on your system and click Continue.
   
   
   
   
8. Use Browse button to navigate to the folder where you've downloaded the driver and press Continue to install the driver, allowing it to install and continue. The process will finish and the light on the BuzzBox should be lit. This will conclude the Driver installation and your device is ready to be used by the BuzzBox or BuzzXplore software

Power is supplied to the Card Reader/ Writer box via the USB connection. If the box is connected to a USB hub, be sure that the hub has its own power source or the box may not have enough power to operate correctly.
